15 min KOH
KOH's effect in CSS process is known that it helps accelerate the CO2 capture process, but the relationship between its amount and its effect is unknown. As I tested last time with Ca(OH)2, there is not a strong relationship as the Ca(OH)2 is slightly soluble to water, so the relationship between its amount and relationship is not apparent.

However, KOH is soluble to water, so the effect can be easily determined. I set up 4 tests today with the amount of KOH of 5 grams, 10 grams, 15 grams, and 20 grams, accordingly and each for 15 minutes. The time is set to be 15 minutes as I explored that 10 minutes may be too short while 30 minutes is too long that the CO2 level will drop to the minimum already by that point.

In the observation, the data is collected:

It is obvious that the decrease of CO2 level is depending on the amount of KOH added. As the amount of KOH increased, the decrease of CO2 in the box will be more dramatic: 5 grams-1131ppm; 10 grams-1285ppm; 15 grams-1383ppm; 20 grams-1388ppm. Therefore, there is an positive relationship between KOH amount and the speed of CO2 decrease.
